Con este propósito se plantea este proyecto el cual consiste en rehabilitar, mejorar y actualizar, el Módulo de Control de Nivel y Caudal de la Planta de Procesos. Los avances en las nuevas tecnologías que se presentan hoy en día, ofrecen ventajas, que crean la necesidad de mejorar y actualizar los recursos técnicos con los que cuenta la Ingeniería Mecánica para el desarrollo de nuevas técnicas. The CPU controls and processes all the operations within the PLC. It consists of a central processing unit (CPU) containing the system microprocessor, memory, and input/output circuitry. A PLC system has the basic functional components of a processor unit, memory, power supply unit, input/output interface section, communications interface, and programming device. PLCs are now widely used and extend from small self-contained units for use with perhaps 20 digital inputs/outputs to modular systems, which can be used for large numbers of inputs/outputs, handle digital or analogue inputs/outputs, and also carry out proportional-integral-derivative control modes. The controller then monitors the inputs and outputs according to this program and carries out the control rules for which it has been programmed. The operator enters a sequence of instructions, that is, a program, into the memory of the PLC. Input devices and output devices in a system being controlled are connected to the PLC. It is designed to be operated by engineers with perhaps a limited knowledge of computers and computing languages. A programmable logic controller (PLC) is a special form of microprocessor-based controller that uses a programmable memory to store instructions and to implement functions such as logic, sequencing, timing, counting, and arithmetic to control machines and processes. This chapter presents an introduction to the programmable logic controller, its general function, hardware forms, and internal architecture. This paper gives a overview of AOI(And OR Inverter) and OAI(Or And Inverter) circuits designed and simulated through PLC with the help of ladder diagram. This paper forms a basic for designing complex sequential circuits and helps in developing VLSI circuits. In this work, we have designed and simulated the basic gates and compound gates using ladder diagram in PLC, using Indraworks, Indralogic platform. The question why PLC is the tool, which gives the control and hold in automation, it provides high gain, improved quality and accuracy, works flexible in criticized and hazardous situation, increase product rate, early time to market, low cost, and mainly since the automation helps in designing and changing over easily from one product to another. The advancement in PLC came up to overcome all these factors. The drawback of using these are many with respect to cost, wiring, and maintenance is more. Earlier days in industry, electromechanical relays, timers, counters and sequencers were widely used. Programmable Logic Controllers or PLC, normally a digitized controller is fixed, rigid and industrial digital computer. The paper concluded with a discussion on industrial applications, economic advantages and recommended that the training of technicians should include modern technology in PLC control this will reduce human labour and boost industrial production and the nation economy. Thus from the design and implementation of a programmable Logic controller based belt conveyor, users can save the power of motor operating the conveyor by regulating the conveyor automatically. Also by using optical sensor this helps to regularize the filled up level and the decongestion of the conveyor automatically. It is considered a labour saving system that allows large volumes to move rapidly through a process. The developed system allows the user to control the conveyor automatically by sensing the objects when the conveyor is filled up to a particular level and self-unloading bulk freighters and in live bottom trucks.
